LISTENING WITH WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER
Having trouble getting Windows Media Player to play YOUR INTERNET RADIO? Instead of launching the
station, does Windows Media Player prompt you to save a file? We can fix those problems quickly!
The instructions on this page show how to configure Windows Media Player to launch and play YOUR INTERNET
RADIO. You'll also learn how to display YOUR INTERNET RADIO's play list (song titles and artist's names) and
web site in Windows Media Player while you are listening.
The instructions on this page are for Windows Media Player versions 10 and 11, but I think the
instructions will work for version 9 too.
When you finish configuring your Windows Media Player as described on this page, this what your player
will look like when you tune in YOUR INTERNET RADIO:
The web page displayed in Windows Media Player is fully functional. You can use it to make your
song requests while you are listening. You not need to keep a separate browser window open in order
to use the YOUR INTERNET RADIO website. You can listen and use the site with your Windows Media Player.
The instructions on this page are easy to follow and pictures are included to assist you. You can get it
done in a few minutes. This is stuff that you do just once, and then you never have to do it again!
WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER SETTINGS
Open Windows Media Player, and then open the Options window. You can open the Options window via the menubar
in Windows Media Player, as shown in the following picture:
When you have the Options window open, click on the tab for File Types. The following picture shows
what the file types section looks like. The picture also provides text instructions that tell
you exactly what to do!
After you've made the correct settings for File Types, as described on the picture above,
close Windows Media Player.
TUNE IN TO YOUR INTERNET RADIO
Click here to go to my TUNE IN page. When you arrive there you'll see large logo
images for various players.
Click on the Windows Media Player logo, and YOUR INTERNET RADIO will launch your
Windows Media Player and begin playing.
DISPLAYING WEB CONTENT IN WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER
When Windows Media Player launches, the following message about web content might appear.
If you do see that message, answer "Yes" if you want to see the YOUR INTERNET RADIO web site and
play list displayed inside your Windows Media Player while you are listening. If you answer "No",
the station will play in Windows Media Player but you will not see any of the station's web
pages or play list information.
If you want YOUR INTERNET RADIO's web page and play list info to appear in your Windows Media Player
every time that you tune in, so that you'll never see that annoying web content question again: Place a
check in the "Always show Web enhanced content" item and then click on the "Yes" button!
